Wow, what a day! Our Interclub Torneo on February 1st had it ALL! From surprise visits from the Mossos (a slightly embarrassing story involving some dodgy Spanish from myself and Ian 😅), to ambulance sirens 🚑, a little bit of rain 🌧️, and of course, some amazing netball 🤩!
We started out strong, courts marked and ready, but then… BAM! 💥 The heavens opened! Cancellation loomed, but our superhero 🦸♂️ of the day, Sergi, swooped in and saved the day by securing the indoor court! 🙌
But the drama didn't end there! Puddles galore transformed the outdoor courts into mini-lakes 🌊. Luckily, we had our chief puddle mopper and Team Spirit Award winner, Lauren "The Legs," and her amazing team of sideline-players-turned-mop-wielders! 💪 You guys were incredible! A huge thank you to everyone who helped wipe down the courts – you're all legends! ✨
Now, onto the netball! 🤩
- Match 1: Teal vs. Red - A nail-biter! Red took it by 1 point! 4-5 🔴
- Match 2: Teal vs. Blues - Teal bounced back with a win! 9-5 🔵
- Match 3: Decider Match - Another close one! 8-7! Red vs. Teal in the final! 🏆
The final was EPIC! So much back and forth, but Team Red emerged victorious! Huge congrats! 🥳
Massive shoutout to our fantastic team captains – Lucky, Judith, Anna, and Charlotte – for keeping everyone organized and on time (mostly 😉)! You're all stars! ⭐
The standard of netball was top-notch! Everyone should be super proud! 👏 It was awesome to see everyone pitching in with court setup, changeovers in the rain, and pack down. Teamwork makes the dream work! 💖

A little update on Anna: As you know, Anna was unfortunately injured during the event. We've been in touch, and thankfully, there's no permanent damage, just some soreness. A huge thank you to Heather and Josie for calling the ambulance, and to Joanna M for providing calming support and gummy bears! 🧸 You’re all angels! 😇
After all that excitement, we definitely deserved a drink! 🍻 We headed to our "local" to debrief and celebrate.
